What is Music Therapy?
Music Therapy is an established healthcare profession that uses music to address the physical, emotional, cognitive, and social needs of individuals of all ages. In individual and group sessions, clients will benefit from interventions targeting goal areas including communication, cognition, social/emotional, motor/physical and sensory regulation.
Before beginning music therapy sessions, a qualified music therapist assesses each client and develops individualized goals based on the client’s areas of need. The music therapist provides targeted interventions to reach these goal areas through activities that include music making, moving to music, listening to music, and many more.
